While AT&T is adding data plan options for its prepaid customers, Verizon is eliminating some of its prepaid plans.
Verizon recently discontinued two of its prepaid plans. First is the $30 smartphone plan, which offered unlimited talk and text but no included data, meaning that you’d have to stick to Wi-Fi for your data needs.
The other discontinued plan was aimed at basic phones. This rate plan cost $15 per month and included 300 minutes and texts as well as unlimited mobile web.
With these plans gone, Verizon customers looking for a prepaid smartphone plan must choose either the $45 plan with 2GB of high-speed data or the $60 plan with 5GB of high-speed data. Basic phone customers only have one option, which is the $30 plan with unlimited talk, text, and mobile web.
