Last year, Google launched a feature called Popular Times that shows you the busiest times for a particular place to help you decide when you should go. Now Google is stepping the feature up with live info.
Google is improving Popular Times to give you real-time info on how busy a place is right now. These details are baked into the existing Popular Times feature, so if the place that you want to visit is busy now, you can also find out when it won’t be so busy.
Also included with this Popular Times update is info on how long people typically stay at a place.
Finally, Google is updating its business info with hours for different departments and services. For example, your grocery store may have a dedicated pharmacy or liquor store that operates at different hours than the grocery store itself, and now Google will show you those different hours.
These Popular Times improvements are coming just in time for Thanksgiving and Black Friday so that you know if the time is right to visit a store or if the deal-hungry crowds have packed that shop. So if you’re thinking about heading out shopping this week, maybe give this updated Popular Times feature a try before you go.
