Apple launches iPhone 6s repair program to address unexpected device shutdowns

iPhone 6s hands-on

Hot on the heels of the launch of its iPhone 6 Plus “touch disease” repair program, Apple has announced another program for the iPhone 6s.

Apple is now offering a repair program for iPhone 6s models that “may unexpectedly shut down.” The company points out that this isn’t a safety issue, so you don’t have to worry about the battery harming you or your device.

This issue affects a limited number of devices that were manufacturer between September and October 2015. If you believe that your device has this unexpected shutdown issue, you can go to an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider to have your phone’s eligibility checked. If it qualifies for a repair, you’ll get a free battery replacement.

Have you or anyone you know been affected by this iPhone 6s battery shutdown issue?
