The HTC Bolt is part of a new wave of smartphones that ditches the 3.5mm headphone jack, leaving owners to use the Bolt’s USB-C port for plugging in headphones. And while the Bolt includes USB-C headphones, some folks may already have 3.5mm headphones that they’d prefer to use. Now HTC is taking care of those people.
HTC is offering USB-C to 3.5mm adapters to Sprint Bolt buyers. If that’s you, you can point your browser to this webpage and then enter your purchase date, transaction number, and MEID. HTC expects to ship these adapters to consumers by the end of December.
To qualify for this free adapter, you’ll need to buy your HTC Bolt by January 31, 2017 and submit your request by February 28, 2017.
One other detail that’s worth noting is that HTC will bundle this adapter in with future production runs of the Bolt. That’s according to HTC’s own Jeff Gordon.
Offering a free USB-C to 3.5mm adapter to HTC Bolt owners is a nice move by HTC. Obviously it’d be nice if the adapter was in the box — and again, it will be in the future — but at least HTC is offering the adapter to Bolt buyers at no charge following the device’s launch.
If you’ve got an HTC Bolt and want a free adapter, hit up this site and submit your request.
