LG kicked off its Android 7.0 Nougat rollout to the G5 earlier this month, and it looks like one US carrier model may now be getting its update.
Some Sprint LG G5 owners report that they’ve gotten their update to Android 7.0. The update is a biggie, weighing in at 1275.4MB, so you might want to find a speedy Wi-Fi connection before starting your download.
Once you get Nougat on your G5, you’ll find several new goodies to play with. Those include a refreshed UI that’s more similar to the flavor of Android 7.0 that’s on the LG V20, direct replies from notifications, and editable quick settings. LG has also included a DPI changer so that you can set the DPI to 544, 640, or 720.
The update also bumps Sprint’s LG G5 up to the November 1, 2016 Android security patch level.
LG prides itself on offering the latest software to its flagship phones, like how it launched the V20 with Android 7.0 in tow or it began pushing Android 6.0 to the LG G4 just two weeks after Google pushed the update to its Nexuses. That said, it’s still good to see the LG G5 already getting Android 7.0 Nougat. If you’ve got a G5 on Sprint, keep an eye out for your helping of Nougat.
