OnePlus 3T official with Snapdragon 821, beefier battery, and other upgrades

The OnePlus 3T is official, and as expected, it’s a souped-up version of the OnePlus 3 that launched earlier this year

There are a few notable upgrades that the OnePlus 3T has over the plain ol’ OnePlus 3. First up, there’s a new Snapdragon 821 processor, which OnePlus touts will give the 3T faster processing and better power efficiency over the OnePlus 3 and its Snapdragon 820 processor.

Also inside of the OnePlus 3T is a beefier 3,400mAh battery, up from the OnePlus 3’s 3,000mAh battery. The 3T comes in 64GB and 128GB storage options, too, whereas the 3 is only available with 64GB.

Rounding out the OnePlus 3T’s list of new features is a 16-megapixel front-facing camera, up from the OnePlus 3’s 8-megapixel selfie cam.

OnePlus 3T Gunmetal Gray official

Outside of those tweaks, the OnePlus 3T is similar to the OnePlus 3. That means that the 3T has a 5.5-inch 1920x1080 AMOLED display, 6GB of RAM, 16-megapixel rear camera, dual SIM slots, a fingerprint reader, and OxygenOS based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. All of those features are crammed into a unibody aluminum frame.

The OnePlus 3T will launch in the US on November 22 and in Europe on November 28. Pricing will start at $439 USD / €439 EUR / £399 GBP for the 64GB model and go up to $479 USD for the 128GB model.

OnePlus 3T Soft Gold official

There will be two color options for the OnePlus 3T: Gunmetal Gray (which looks a bit darker than the gray OnePlus 3) and Soft Gold. The Gunmetal Gray will be available in 64GB and 128GB versions at launch, while the Soft Gold will be sold only in 64GB versions and will be available “shortly after launch.”

The OnePlus 3T looks like a nice upgrade over the OnePlus 3. While the big news is a Snapdragon 821, which will help future-proof the 3T, the inclusion of a bigger battery and improved selfie camera are nice, too. Then there’s the 128GB storage option, which is a welcome sight considering that the 3T doesn’t have a microSD slot, meaning that you’re stuck with whatever internal storage your phone comes with.

Will you be buying a OnePlus 3T?
