OnePlus 3T images and spec list revealed ahead of official debut

OnePlus 3T leak gray

Tomorrow’s the day that OnePlus is expected to unveil the OnePlus 3T, the souped up version of its OnePlus 3 flagship. As usually happens in the smartphone world, though, OnePlus’s announcement has been spoiled by a leak.

Images and specs of the OnePlus 3T have been revealed by established leaker Evan Blass. As you can see in the image above, the OnePlus 3T looks fairly similar to the OnePlus 3, complete with a squircle rear camera, antenna lines, and fingerprint reader on the front. In addition to the gray model above, there’s a gold version that you can see in the tweet below.

When it comes to specs, the OnePlus 3T is expected to include a Snapdragon 821, which has already been confirmed by OnePlus. This is an upgrade over the OnePlus 3’s Snapdragon 820 processor.

There are some other differences between the OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3. For example, the 3T will allegedly be available with 128GB of storage, whereas the 3 is currently only offered with 64GB. The 3T is also expected to have a larger 3,400mAh battery compared to the 3’s 3,000mAh battery, and the 3T’s front camera will be bumped to a 16-megapixel sensor, up from the 8-megapixel front camera on the 3.

Some of the OnePlus 3T’s other specs remain the same as they were with the OnePlus 3. Those include a 5.5-inch 1920x1080 AMOLED display, 16-megapixel rear camera, 6GB of RAM, and USB 2.0 Type-C.

Based on today’s leak, the OnePlus 3T looks like a nice upgrade over the OnePlus 3 that want a bit more power and future-proofing. The good news is that OnePlus could beef up the OP3T’s battery in addition to its processor, giving you more battery life to go with that extra processing power, and also throwing in extra storage.

There’s no word yet on how much the OnePlus 3T will cost. OnePlus is focused on affordability, and so the company will likely try to price its new device as aggressively as possible while still keeping it lower than traditional Android flagships. As of this writing, the regular OnePlus 3 sells for $399.
