Google’s got a few different messaging apps on Android, but today the spotlight is on Messenger.
Google is now pushing out an update to its Messenger app, and it’s a pretty major one. The update brings with it a redesign with a more fun look, including a new round app icon. Also included are enhanced features, like the ability to see when your friends are typing.
Here’s the full changelog from Google for this Messenger update:
- Messenger has been completely redesigned to make conversations easier, faster, and more fun.
- Simple design, quick photo sharing, and top contacts one tap away
- Enhanced features that let you send messages over Wi-Fi or your data network, see when friends are typing, and more (some carriers only)
- Unread messages indicator on your Messenger’s home screen icon (some Android phones only)
- Android N compatibility
This is a significant update for Messenger, and so anyone that uses this as their Android messaging app of choice should keep an eye out for it. Not only does it include some really nice new features, like an indicator for when your friend is typing and an unread message indicator, but the redesign looks great, too.
Do you use Google Messenger? If not, what’s your preferred Android messaging app?
