Apple Support app launches in the US to help solve your iOS and Mac troubles

Apple today launched a new app in the US App Store called Apple Support.

As you might expect given its name, the Apple Support app aims to help you solve any problems that you might be having with your iOS or Mac products. There are options for chatting with an Apple Support rep, scheduling a call, or sending an email. You can also find Apple Store or Apple Authorized Retailer locations where you can take a device in for repair.

The app also shows a history of support that you’ve gotten for your Apple products. For example, it’ll show that you chatted with a support rep at a certain time and date, and then that you also scheduled an appointment at an Apple Store for a repair on the same device.

The Apple Support app requires iOS 9 or later and is compatible with the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

This looks like a solid addition to Apple’s app portfolio. With the Apple Support app, iOS users have a place that they can quickly go to any time that the need help with their device, meaning that they don’t have to search the web for answers to their question. The app also appears to keep track of the Apple devices that you own, meaning that there’s one less thing to worry about if you do need to contact support.

The Apple Support app is now available in the US and the Netherlands, and Apple has told TechCrunch that it’ll launch in more countries over the coming weeks.
