Google has confirmed that Gboard is now available on Android.
Like its iOS counterpart, Gboard for Android includes Google Search built directly into the keyboard. Just tap the G button on the left side of the keyboard and you’ll be able to perform a Google search right there and then paste the results into your conversation. You can search for an address, the weather, a GIF, and more.
Other features of Gboard include support for enabling multiple languages at once, including autocorrect and suggest. There’s improvements to Glide Typing, predictions, and autocorrections, too.
Gboard for Android is now available in the Play Store. If you’ve already got Google Keyboard on your device, you should receive an update for Gboard.
It’s good to see Google finally bringing Gboard to Android after launching it on iOS earlier this year. The built-in Google Search functionality is super handy, letting you search for addresses, phone numbers, and more without having to jump from one app to another. Improvements to predictions and autocorrect are welcome, too, since they’ll make the act of typing on this keyboard better.
Once you’ve given Gboard for Android a try, be sure to share your thoughts with us!
