Today Google confirmed that it’ll launch two Android Wear 2.0 smartwatches early next year. But what if you’ve already got an Android Wear smartwatch that you’re happy with? You may not have to upgrade to get new features to play with.
A confirmed list of the smartwatches that’ll be updated to Android Wear 2.0 has been released. They are:
- Asus ZenWatch 2
- Asus ZenWatch 3
- Casio Smart Outdoor Watch
- Fossil Q Founder
- Fossil Q Marshal
- Fossil Q Wander
- Huawei Watch
- Huawei Watch Ladies
- LG G Watch R
- LG Watch Urbane
- LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE
- Michael Kors Access Bradshaw Smartwatch
- Michael Kors Access Dylan Smartwatch
- Moto 360 2nd Gen
- Moto 360 Sport
- Nixon Mission
- Polar M600
- Tag Heuer Connected
Most of the devices on that list aren’t a surprise, as they’ve been released fairly recently. Still, it’s good to get confirmation that these watches will get Android Wear 2.0, which will be a significant update.
Android Wear 2.0 is expected to begin rolling out in early 2017. It’ll bring with it new features like standalone apps, smart replies, handwriting support, and Android Pay on watches with the supported hardware (aka NFC).
