Lenovo-backed ZUK has churned out a couple of notable Android smartphones over the past year and a half, and today it finished out 2016 with another interesting piece of kit.
The ZUK Edge features a 5.5-inch 1920x1080 display that dominates the front of the device with an 86.4 percent screen-to-body ratio. The display also offers 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass and a 178-degree viewing angle.
Inside of the ZUK Edge lives a quad-core Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB/6GB of RAM, dual SIM slots, and 64GB of built-in storage. There’s a 3,100mAh battery powering this whole package, and you charge the ZUK Edge over the USB Type-C port. And yes, the ZUK Edge also includes a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Rounding out the ZUK Edge’s feature set is a 13-megapixel rear camera with a Samsung-made ISOCELL sensor, f/2.2 aperture, phase detection autofocus, and a flash. The front of the phone is home to an 8-megapixel camera above the display and a fingerprint reader below the screen.
The ZUK Edge will be priced at ¥2299 ($330 USD) for the 4GB/64GB model and ¥2499 ($360 USD) for the 6GB/64GB model.
ZUK’s Edge looks like a solid Android smartphone. Not only does it have a pretty high-end spec list, but its large display dominates the front of the phone, and the minimal bezels that surround the screen should make it easier to hold this phone than some other phablets. Unfortunately, it’s unclear when or if the ZUK Edge will ever launch outside of China, so most of us may just have to ogle it through online images.
