Spotify Family plan now available

Spotify Family official

After teasing Spotify Family late last month, Spotify today officially launched its multi-user premium accounts.

Spotify Family is now available, allowing up to five users to use Spotify’s premium service and receive a 50 percent discount for each member after the first. That means that two users will cost $14.99 per month, three will cost $19.99 per month, four will cost $24.99 and five members will be $29.99 per month.

As I noted when Spotify Family was first announced, each member on a Spotify Family plan gets a premium, ad-free experience with their own playlists and recommendations. In order to invite users to join your family, they’ll need to be non-Spotify Premium members, so your friends will need to downgrade from a paid account to join your family plan.

We’ve been hearing about a family offering for Spotify for years now, so it’s great to see Spotify Family finally go live. If you and some friends or loved ones all have your own Spotify Premium accounts, this new Spotify Family plan looks like a nice way to save some cash each month.
