The non-hardware parts of Nokia have apparently kept themselves busy since the company’s Devices and Services division was acquired by Microsoft earlier this year. First it offered the Z Launcher app for Android devices, and now it’s got “something” else planned.
Nokia today teased on its social media accounts that it’s “up to something.” The messages are accompanied by an image of a black box with Nokia branding and the date “18.11.14,” suggesting that whatever Nokia is “up to,” we’ll learn more tomorrow.
The messages also include a link to the Slush technology conference that’s taking place in Helsinki, Finland this week. Sebastian Nyström, who serves as Head of Products Business at Nokia Technologies, will give a talk titled “What’s Next, Nokia?” at the conference during which we’ll presumably find out more about whatever Nokia is teasing.
As for what Nokia is up to, well, that’s a bit tough to say for now. It could be an Android TV-powered set-top box, a small computer or any other number of things. Thankfully, it won’t be long before this mystery is resolved.
What do you think Nokia is planning to announce tomorrow?
