ASUS said earlier this month that its Android Wear-powered ZenWatch would launch in Best Buy stores initially, then roll out to Google Play at a later date. Well, it looks like that later date is near.
The ASUS ZenWatch is now live in the Google Play store. Pricing is set at $199, just as expected, but its availability is currently listed as “Coming soon.” As a refresher, here’s the ZenWatch’s spec rundown:
- 1.63-inch 320x320 AMOLED display
- 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor
- 4GB of storage
- 512MB of RAM
- 9 axis sensor, bio-sensor
- IP55 rated for water resistance
- 1.4Wh battery
- Charges over microUSB
While the ASUS ZenWatch may not differ much from its Android Wear compatriots in terms of specs, ASUS’s offering is one of the more attractive Android Wear devices that we’ve seen to date. Besides that, it’s also great to see another manufacturer entering the Android Wear arena and giving us even more options when it comes to buying a wearable.
