NVIDIA said last week that the SHIELD tablet’s Android 5.0 update would be ready to roll on November 18, and it turns out that that’s precisely the case.
NVIDIA has announced that the Android 5.0 update for the Wi-Fi SHIELD tablet is now ready for download. The Lollipop update for the LTE-flavored version of the SHIELD tablet is “coming soon.”

The SHIELD tablet’s Android 5.0 update will bump NVIDIA’s slate to a clean version of Lollipop, complete with refreshed icons and Material Design. NVIDIA has also thrown in updated versions of its Dabbler and SHIELD Hub apps with improvements and a design refresh.
NVIDIA is pushing Android 5.0 to the SHIELD tablet much faster than most other device makers are updating to Lollipop, making the SHIELD tablet even more enticing, even for folks that don’t consider themselves heavy gamers.
Have you gotten Android 5.0 on your NVIDIA SHIELD tablet yet?
