Republic Wireless will soon offer smartphone deals with six months of free service

Five years after its launch, Republic Wireless today announced that it’s received $30 million in funding and has been spun off as its own company, and that it’s prepping some deals to celebrate.

From December 7 through December 12, Republic Wireless will offer the Moto Z Play for $349, which is $100 off of its regular asking price. And then from December 13 through December 19, the Huawei Ascend 5W will be available for $129, which is $50 off of its normal price.

What makes these deals even better is that they both come with six months of contract-free, no cost service. That includes unlimited talk and text as well as 1GB of cellular data.

The free service is what really makes these smartphone deals enticing. If you’ve ever been thinking about giving Republic a try, this month seems like the time to do it, as you’ll get six months of free service for buying one of these two devices. Just keep in mind that you’ll only be getting 1GB of cellular data (on the Sprint network) per month, so you may have to try to stick to Wi-Fi for most of your data usage, which is actually what Republic would probably like since the company is all about using Wi-Fi for calling and texting.

Have you ever tried Republic Wireless? If not, do these deals have you thinking about giving it a shot?
