Motorola has been pretty spot on when it came to pushing core Android updates to its Moto X, Moto G and Moto E, and it looks like that’s going to continue with the Moto X (2014).
The Moto X (2014) Pure Edition is now receiving its Android 5.0 Lollipop update as part of a soak test. According to Motorola’s release notes, the update includes the following new features and tweaks:
- Material Design
- Notifications UI & Priorities
- New Interruptions & Downtime Settings
- Recent Apps (Multitasking)
- Moto Display and Ambient Display
- Motorola Assist and Downtime
- Flashlight
- Share your Device
- Pin a view/app
- Battery
- Smarter Internet Connections
- Performance
- Smart Lock (Trusted Devices)
- Security
There’s no word on when this update will exit its test and begin rolling out to the public, but it’s certainly good to see that Motorola is already testing Lollipop updates. And if you don’t have a Moto X (2014), don’t fret: Motorola has confirmed that it’ll push Android 5.0 to several other devices too.
