Earlier this year, Google officially released Google Assistant to all Android phones running Marshmallow or higher. Now Google is spreading Assistant even farther.
Google Assistant is now available on tablets. Google says that it'll be rolling out over the coming weeks to users in the U.S. with their language set to English.
Additionally, Google Assistant is making its way to more phones. Devices running Android 5.0 Lollipop can now get Google Assistant, too.
Assistant on Lollipop phones will be available to users with their language set to English in the U.S., U.K., India, Australia, Canada, and Singapore as well as users with their language set to Spanish in the U.S., Mexico, and Spain. It's also rolling out to users in Italy, Japan, Germany, Brazil, and Korea.
It's great to see Google Assistant rolling out to Lollipop-powered devices. Assistant can make a lot of tasks easier, including checking the weather, answering questions, performing tasks, and more, and we know that there are still a lot of people using Lollipop, so giving Assistant to those people is a nice move by Google.
