One month after offering an Android 8.0 beta to users, Essential is now releasing an updated Oreo build
The Essential Phone is now getting an Oreo Beta 2 update. This is build OPM1.170911.213, says Essential, and it brings new features like smart text selection, picture-in-picture, and more. There are some unspecified bug fixes in there, too.

If you installed Oreo Beta 1 on your Essential Phone, you should see get this update over the air. Users that haven't yet installed an Oreo beta on their Essential Phone can register to do so right here.
It's unclear when the Essential Phone will get its public Oreo update, but it's good to see Essential improve its Oreo build and offer an updated version to testers.
