Snapchat is now rolling out an update with a brand new feature.
Called Snap Map, Snapchat’s newest feature aims to help you find your friends and see what they’re doing. After updating to the latest version of Snapchat, you can pinch to zoom out on the Snapchat camera screen to see a map. If your friends have chosen to share their location, you’ll see their Actionmoji character on the map. You’ll see popular events that are happening, too.
With Snap Map, you can choose whether you want to share your location and Actionmoji with all of your friends, with select friends, or with no one. Your Actionmoji and location will only update when you open the Snapchat app.
The goal of Snap Map is to let you quickly see what all of your friends are doing and where they’re at. To try the feature out for yourself, you’ll need to update to the latest version of Snapchat for Android or iPhone. Both updates should be rolling out now.
