The OnePlus 5 is now making its way into the hands of early buyers, and some folks are noticing a sort of jelly-like effect when scrolling through apps on the device. Today OnePlus responded to the issue.
In a statement to The Verge, OnePlus explained that it has received feedback from “a small number” of OnePlus 5 owners who say they’ve noticed a visual effect when scrolling. “This is natural and there’s no variance in screens between devices,” OnePlus says.
The company added that the components used in the OnePlus 5 are the same level of quality as those in its other devices.
It’s good that OnePlus has responded to this issue, but those who are affected by this OnePlus 5 jelly-like scrolling likely aren’t going to be thrilled with the statement. Because OnePlus says that the visual effect is natural, these OP5 owners will likely either have to learn to live with the scrolling effect or return their device. OnePlus takes returns within 15 calendar days of delivery, so early adopters of the OnePlus 5 are still within this window.
