Verizon has just announced that they will be launching an unlimited data plan starting tomorrow, February 13th. The plan, called Verizon Unlimited, offers unlimited data*, talk, and text for $80/month for a single line, or $45 per line for a family of four. These prices are assuming paperless billing. While data on the plan is unlimited, customers' data speeds may be throttled when they reach 22GB of data usage in a given billing cycle.
Included in the Verizon Unlimited plan is 10GB of mobile hotspot data per month, as well as unlimited calls and texts to Canada and Mexico. Verizon is already touting their Unlimited plan as superior to the T-Mobile ONE plan because HD video is included by default, rather than streamed at 480p.
So far it appears Verizon will continue to offer certain bucketed data plans for customers who don't use much data. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
