This past weekend, Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure revealed that Sprint’s existing Unlimited Freedom customers would be getting HD video streaming for free. Now more details on that offer have been announced.
Sprint is treating existing Unlimited Freedom customers to HD video (up to 1080p) and 10GB of mobile hotspot usage per month. Both of these features will be free, with HD video streaming now available and the 10GB hotspot usage starting in March.
If you’re an existing Unlimited Freedom customer, you can dial *2 from your Sprint phone to activate these changes.
Sprint Unlimited Freedom Premium customers are getting a gift, too. These customers were already getting HD video streaming (up to 1080p) and 5GB of mobile hotspot usage for an extra $20 per month, but that fee will be waived starting in March. Additionally, these customers will have their mobile hotspot allotment bumped up to 10GB per month.
Unlimited Freedom Premium customers don’t need to do anything to get these improvements.
These changes come hot on the heels of Sprint’s new unlimited plan, which offers unlimited HD video streaming and 10GB of mobile hotspot usage for new customers. Now existing customers are getting the same goodies, which a welcome sight and is something that I’m sure Unlimited Freedom customers are going to be pretty excited about.
