Moto G5 official

Moto’s popular G series of affordable Android phones is expanding again.

The Moto G5 (above) and Moto G5 Plus (below) are now official. While the two phones share a similar design, their spec lists are a bit different, with the G5 Plus packing some higher-end features.

The base Moto G5 has a 5-inch 1920x1080 display and 5-megapixel camera on its face, and around back there’s a 13-megapixel camera with phase detection autofocus and f/2.0 lens. Inside of the Moto G5’s metal body lives a Snapdragon 430 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a 2800mAh battery.

Moto G5 Plus official

Moto’s G5 Plus steps things up a few different ways. There’s a larger 5.2-inch 1920x1080 display, a higher-end Snapdragon 625 processor, 2GB/3GB/4GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB/64GB of storage, and a 12-megapixel camera with f/1.7 lens and Dual Autofocus Pixels. The battery is also beefier, measuring in at 3000mAh.

Both the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus offer fingerprint readers and Android 7.0 Nougat.

As for availability, expect the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus to begin rolling out in Latin America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and North America starting in March. The 2GB/16GB Moto G5 will cost €199, while the Moto G5 Plus starts at $229 USD for the 2GB/32GB model and goes up to €279 for the 3GB/32GB model.
