US Cellular today announced that it’s joining in on the unlimited data plan fun.
US Cellular has launched its Total Plans with No Hidden Fees, which offer different data allotments, including unlimited. No matter how much data you want, though, you’ll get unlimited talk and text.
The Total Plans start at 2GB of data per line per month. From there, you can go up to 6GB per month or unlimited data. Customers that opt for a 6GB or unlimited data plan will also get unlimited talk and text to Mexico and Canada, and unlimited data customers will also get mobile hotspot support.
When it comes to video streaming, customers on US Cellular’s 2GB and 6GB plans will get high-definition streaming, while unlimited data customers will stream at standard definition.
One other detail worth noting is that when unlimited data customers reach 22GB of usage in a single month, speeds will be slowed to 2G. Customers on 2GB and 6GB plans will shift to 2G speeds after using their high-speed allotment.
Here’s how the pricing for US Cellular’s new Total Plans breaks down:
- 2GB: $40 for one line, $35 each for two lines, $25 each for three lines, $20 each for four lines and up
- 6GB: $50 for one line, $45 each for two lines, $35 each for three lines, $30 each for four lines and up
- Unlimited data: $60 for one line, $55 each for two lines, $45 each for three lines, $40 each for four lines and up
Keep in mind that those prices factor in a $10 monthly discount for enrolling in Auto Pay and Paperless Billing. If you don’t enroll in those features, the price goes up by $10 per month.
US Cellular’s Total Plans with No Hidden Fees have no activation fees, no data overage charges, and no monthly connection charges. However, US Cellular does caution that “taxes and charges such as USC and RCRF apply.”
Finally, US Cellular also lets you add tablets or connected devices to your Total Plan. Pricing for those devices is 1GB for $10 per month, 4GB for $25 per month, or 10GB for $40 per month.
Unlimited data plans are a major trend in mobile lately, and so it’s good to see US Cellular staying competitive and launching an unlimited data plan of its own.
