Nearly one month after Google originally announced the Android 7.1.2 beta, the update is now hitting the Nexus 6P.
The Android 7.1.2 beta release is hitting the Nexus 6P as build NPG05F. It weighs in at a hefty 1293.1MB, so you’re probably going to want to find a speedy Wi-Fi connection before starting your download.
As for what’s included in the update, Google previously said that Android 7.1.2 brings “a number of bugfixes and optimizations, along with a small number of enhancements for carriers and users.” So don’t expect to find any major new features once you’ve updated.
One other detail about this update that’s worth noting is that there’s no “Swipe for notifications” here. The feature, which lets you swipe down on the phone’s fingerprint reader to open your notifications shade, originally appear on the Pixel and Pixel XL and was included in the Nexus 5X’s Android 7.1.2 beta update. However, going into Settings > Moves on the Nexus 6P shows that it didn’t receive the feature for whatever reason. It's not clear if the feature will be included in a future update.
Google plans to officially launch Android 7.1.2 in a couple of months. It’ll be rolled out to the Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, and Pixel C.
