Earlier this month, the Instagram beta app for Android revealed that support for multi-photos was coming, and now that feature is officially launching.
Instagram today announced that it’s rolling out the ability to combine up to 10 photos and videos in a single post. When you have multiple photos or videos in a post, you can simply swipe through them to view them all.
When you’re selecting a photo for your post, you’ll see a new blue icon that’ll let you select multiple photos and videos. You can tap and hold to change the order that your photos are in and apply a single filter to all photos or edit them one by one. However, multi-photo posts can only have a single caption, and they’re square-only for now.
In your feed, multi-photo posts are identified by a series of blue dots below the image. You can swipe through to see all of the posts, and they support liking and commenting, too.
This is a major new feature for Instagram that was previously only available to advertisers. Now that all users have the feature, you can create your own gallery of photos and videos rather than spamming your followers with 10 different images.
This feature is now rolling out on Android and iPhone, so keep an eye out for an update.
