After announcing earlier this month that it was making its unlimited data plan available to everyone, AT&T has now announced some updated unlimited plans.

Starting this Thursday, March 2, AT&T will offer its Unlimited Plus plan. Priced at $90 per month for a single line with autopay and paperless billing, Unlimited Plus includes HD video streaming when Stream Saver is deactivated, 10GB of high-speed mobile hotspot (128Kbps after 10GB of usage), and unlimited data, talk, and text. Two lines on the Unlimited Plus plan will cost $145 per month, and each line after that is another $20 per line per month.

Tablets and hotspots can be added to an Unlimited Plus plan at a rate of $20 per device per month, and smartwatches can be added for $10 per device per month.

One other detail that’s worth noting about Unlimited Plus is that after 22GB of usage, AT&T may slow your speeds during times of network congestion.

If you sign up for DirecTV, DirecTV Now, or U-verse TV, AT&T will give you a $25 monthly video credit. With this discount, Unlimited Plus and DirecTV Now would cost a combined $100 per month, or Unlimited Plus with DirecTV would cost $115 per month.

AT&T is also launching a new Unlimited Choice plan this Thursday. This plan starts at $60 per month for a single line and goes up to $115 per month for two lines, then an additional $20 per line per month from there.

The thing to keep in mind with the Unlimited Choice plan is that network speeds are capped at 3Mbps. That means that this plan is for someone that doesn’t necessarily need a speedy connection. Video streaming also tops out at 480p and 1.5Mbps.

As with the Unlimited Plus plan, the Unlimited Choice plan supports tablets and hotspots at a price of $20 per device per month and smartwatches for $10 per device per month.

AT&T’s new Unlimited Plus plan is more competitive than its previous unlimited plan thanks to the inclusion of 10GB of mobile hotspot and other features. It’s good to see the major US carriers going head-to-head with unlimited data offers, and now AT&T customers are getting a better unlimited plan thanks to that competition that’s heating up.

What do you think of AT&T’s new unlimited plans?
