The Honor 6X launched last month as an affordable Android phone with dual rear cameras. One big knock against the 6X is that it ships with Android 6.0, but Huawei says that it’ll be addressing that issue soon.
Huawei has confirmed that it’ll update the Honor 6X to Android 6.0 and EMUI 5.0 in March. “The new EMUI for Honor 6X will be arriving next month, and it’s been updated based on consumer feedback,” Huawei said in an email to Android Police. No exact rollout date has been given yet.
This is great news for both owners of the Honor 6X and anyone that’s been on the fence about picking one up. The affordable Android smartphone market is pretty fierce, and when your phone ships with an older version of Android, that can be a deal breaker for some consumers. With Nougat coming soon to the Honor 6X, it becomes an an even more competitive option in the affordable smartphone market.
