Android Pay for Android Wear app screenshots posted by Google

Android Wear smartwatches

Google has confirmed that Android Wear 2.0 will include Android Pay support, but the company hasn’t given us a look at what Android Pay on a smartwatch looks like. That’s changed tonight.

The Android Pay app page in the Play Store now includes a few screenshots of the Android Wear app. The first image shows the card that you’re using along with a “Hold to terminal…” prompt, while the second image shows your card and a checkmark to indicate that your payment went through. Finally, the third screenshot shows your card along with its recent transactions.

The addition of Android Pay to Android Wear 2.0 is one of the update’s biggest features, because using the watch that’s on your wrist to pay for something is much faster than digging your phone out of your pocket. The downside is that some existing Android Wear smartwatches don’t include NFC, so some folks may have to upgrade to a new watch to actually use Android Pay on Android Wear 2.0.

Google is expected to officially launch Android Wear 2.0 tomorrow, February 8, and also announce its new smartwatches that were made in collaboration with LG.
