For months now, we’ve all been wondering what caused a number of Galaxy Note 7 phones to catch fire. Samsung today said that it’ll reveal the cause this weekend.
Samsung has announced that it’ll reveal the findings of its investigation into the cause of the Galaxy Note 7 fires during a press conference. The event will take place in Seoul, South Korea, this Monday, January 23 at 10:00 am KST. That means that the event will happen Sunday, January 22, at 8:00 pm EST/5:00 pm PST in the US.
The press conference will be live streamed in English on Samsung’s website.
Samsung explains that it’ll use the press conference to talk about the findings of its investigation as well as the "quality enhancement plan" that it’s put in place in response to the Galaxy Note 7 fires.
The Galaxy Note 7 and its issue with catching fire is one of the biggest mobile stories in recent memory. Not only did multiple Note 7s catch fire and cause damage to property and people, but the issue got so bad that Samsung discontinued the Note 7 and recalled all of the phones that were in the wild.
It’s good that Samsung is sharing the results of its investigation with us, and it’ll be interesting to hear exactly what the company has to say on the matter.
