Nokia 6 official with 5.5-inch display, aluminum unibody, Android Nougat

Nokia 6 official

Nokia and its partner HMD Global Oy said that new Nokia-branded Android phones would launch in the first half of 2017, and it turns out that the companies didn’t wait long to unveil their first device.

The Nokia 6 is now official. Machined out of a solid block of aluminum, the Nokia 6 features a 5.5-inch 1920x1080 display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass. Inside the aluminum unibody shell lives a Snapdragon 430 processor paired with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and 4G LTE connectivity.

Also included with the Nokia 6 is a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and phase detection autofocus, as well as an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. Rounding out the Nokia 6’s feature set are dual amplifiers and Android Nougat.

Nokia 6 all sides

The Nokia 6 will launch in China in early 2017, and it’ll be exclusively available through JD.com. Pricing will be set at 1699 CNY ($246 USD).

This Nokia 6 looks like a solid device, offering a clean design and a body made of premium materials. It’s not the most high-end device around, but many of its features are pretty respectable, especially for the price point. The bad news is that since it’s launching exclusively through JD.com in China, most of us probably won’t get to handle the Nokia 6.

What do you think of the Nokia 6?
