Kyocera DuraForce Pro Verizon Wireless official

A new rugged Android smartphone has rolled its way onto Verizon.

The Kyocera DuraForce Pro is now available at Verizon Wireless. The DuraForce Pro is a durable device with a scratch-resistant Sapphire Shield display and a rugged shell that MIL-STD 810G certified for dust, shock, vibration, temperature extremes, blowing rain, low pressure solar radiation, salt fog, humidity, immersion, temperature shock, and freezing rain.

Also included is water resistance up to 6.5 feet of water for up to 30 minutes. The phone can even detect when its wet and switch to Underwater Mode, which movies camera controls from the touchscreen to the physical buttons.

Verizon touts the DuraForce Pro as being good for business, too, with the inclusion of Android for Work to help keep your work and personal items separate.

When it comes to raw specs, the DuraForce Pro offers a 5-inch 1920x1080 display, 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, a 135-degree wide-view action camera, 32GB of storage, and a microSD card slot. Powering the phone is a combination of an octa-core Snapdragon 617 processor, 3GB of RAM, and a 3,240mAh battery.

The Android 6.0.1-powered Kyocera DuraForce Pro can be had at Verizon for $0 down and 24 monthly payments of $17 each, or $408 full retail.
