HTC One X10 leak says phablet with 16.3-megapixel camera coming soon

At the tail-end of 2015, HTC added a new phablet to its family with the One X9. Now a new rumor claims that we’ll soon see a follow-up.

The HTC One X10 will make its debut later this month, says a source speaking to VentureBeat. The One X10 is expected to have a spec list that’s similar to the One X9, complete with a 5.5-inch 1920x1080 display, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage.

While it’s said that the One X10 will share some features with the One X9, there will be some differences. The One X10 will reportedly boast better cameras, offering 16.3-megapixel rear and 7.9-megapixel front cameras, up from the 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras found on the One X9.

The One X10 will reportedly have a different processor, too, packing an octa-core MediaTek MT6755V/C processor clocked at 1.9GHz. The One X9 has a 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6795 processor.

If these rumors hold true, the One X10 looks like it’ll fall into the mid-range of HTC’s product lineup. That’s not entirely surprising since the One X9 was a mid-range handset, too. What will be interesting is seeing if the One X10 sees a wider distribution than the One X9, which was offered in a handful of Asian countries.

Anyone that wants a higher-end Android smartphone should keep an eye out for the Ocean Note, a device that’s rumored to be a high-end phablet with a curved screen a quality camera, and a follow-up to last year’s HTC 10.
