Heads up, Google Pixel and Nexus owners, because some new security updates are now available.
Google today posted its January 2017 Android Security Bulletin, which details the patches that are included in the latest Android security update. There are fixes for a remote code execution vulnerability in Mediaserver, which Google has dubbed a critical issue, as well as patches for remote code execution vulnerabilities in c-ares and Framesequence.
You can see the full list of vulnerabilities patched in the January 2017 update right here.
Google today also unleashed the factory images and OTA images for this January 2017 security update. There are files for the Pixel and Pixel XL, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus Player, Nexus 9, and Pixel C.
If you’re not comfortable with sideloading the factory image or OTA image right now, Google will be pushing the January 2017 updates to Pixel and Nexus devices over the coming days.
