Huawei has been an important part of Google's Wear OS ecosystem, having released watches like the Huawei Watch and Huawei Watch 2, and today a leak has revealed a new Huawei smartwatch that's in the works.
The Huawei Watch GT has leaked. This new smartwatch features a 1.39-inch round AMOLED, says a report from WinFuture.de, along with NFC, GPS, a compass, accelerometer, and 4GB of storage. Also expected to be included is the latest version of Wear OS.
Powering the Huawei Watch GT is a 420mAh battery. It's said that with a special power-saving mode, you can get up to 14 days of battery life with the Huawei Watch GT before you need to charge it. It's said that this long battery life could be due to the inclusion of Qualcomm's new Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor, but it's unclear if that chipset is actually included.
The Huawei Watch GT is said to be waterproof and it'll reportedly be available in two versions: a Classic or Fashion model and a Sport version.
It's rumored that the Huawei Watch GT will launch alongside the Huawei Mate 20 phones. While still unofficial, this looks like a nice smartwatch, offering a classy-looking case with large metal buttons and a design that's reminiscent of a nice analog watch. If this device does come to market with the new Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor, it could be a great option for anyone that wants a new Wear OS smartwtch.
