Lots of folks have criticized the notch on the Google Pixel 3 XL for being too large, but now some folks who went ahead and got the Pixel 3 XL anyway have lost more screen space due to a bug that shows a second notch.
Several Pixel 3 XL owners on Reddit and Twitter are reporting that their phone is now showing a software notch on the side of its display. The good news is that rebooting the phone makes this second notch go away, but this is still a pretty strange bug.
The good news is Google is aware of the bug, telling Android Police that a fix is coming soon.
So my Pixel randomly grew another notch today.https://t.co/c6Pff9MVmW pic.twitter.com/ugjfLmCkDZ

The display notch itself is a smartphone trend that's pretty annoying for some folks, and the large notch on the Pixel 3 XL has turned a lot of folks off of Google's bigger flagship. Considering all of the complaints that the Pixel 3 XL notch has gotten, this bug that causes a second notch to appear on the Pixel 3 XL's screen is pretty funny. Thankfully, it's not too hard to make the second notch go away.
Have any of you Pixel 3 XL owners encountered this bug?
