Google is making it easier to access and control your Search data.
Starting today, you can view and delete your Google Search data directly from Google Search. This feature is rolling out in Google Search on desktop and mobile devices starting today and will be available in the Google app for Android and iOS in the coming weeks.
To try the feature out for yourself, grab your phone and point your browser to Google Search. Tap the three-line button in the upper-left corner and you'll see a "Your data in Search button". From there, you'll see your recent search activity, info about how Google uses search data, and buttons to delete your Google Search data from the last hour or all of your activity.
Google also gives you quick access to the privacy controls in your Google Account here. You can view and change your Activity Controls to determine what info Google saves to your account as well as Ad Settings to control the info Google uses to show you ads.
Privacy and having control of your online data is important, and so it's good to see Google making it easier for people to see their Search data and delete it if they'd like. Google says it's bringing similar tools to its other products, too, including Maps next year.
