One day after Google Assistant got a visual update, it's gaining a new feature.
Google Assistant can now easily book ride services like Uber and Lyft. Just say "Hey Google, book a ride to _____" or "Hey Google, get me a taxi to ______" and you'll be given a list of ride sharing services to choose from. If you'd like just a single ride service, you can specify it in your request by saying something like "Hey Google, book a Lyft to PDX."
Once you've made your request, you can grab your phone to select the ride service that you want to use and confirm your booking.
This feature works on Android phones, iPhone, Google Home, and smart speakers with Google Assistant built-in. Supported ride services include Uber, Lyft, Grab, GO-JEK, and more. Google says that this feature will be available in English first and any country where one of the supported ride services operates. More languages will be added in the coming months.
