Amazon intros Fire TV Stick 4K with HDR10+ and new Alexa Voice Remote

Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K official

Amazon's family of Fire TV devices is growing again.

Amazon today introduced the new Fire TV Stick 4K with several upgrades over its predecessor. Perhaps the most notable is 4K Ultra HD support, which is up from the 1080p max resolution of the previous Fire TV Stick. That's not the only audio/visual upgrade of the new Fire TV Stick 4K, though, as it also supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos.

The new Fire TV Stick 4K also includes a new quad-core 1.7GHz processor that Amazon says will give you faster streaming and quicker load times. There's an upgrade to Bluetooth 5.0 + LTE in there, too, along with 8GB of built-in storage.

Amazon has also upgraded the Alexa Voice Remote that's included with the Fire TV Stick 4K. The new model includes dedicated power, volume, and mute buttons so that you can control your TV, sound bar, or A/V receiver with it. And because Alexa is included, you can use your voice to search for and launch content, control smart home devices, and more.

Amazon is now taking pre-orders for the Fire TV Stick 4K. Pricing is set at $49.99, and the device will be released on October 31st. Amazon is also selling the new Alexa Voice Remote separately. It's compatible with the Fire TV Stick (2nd Gen), Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Cube, and Fire TV (3rd Gen, Pendant Design).

What do you think of the new Fire TV Stick 4K?
