LG V40 ThinQ expected to launch in October with a triple rear camera setup

LG V30 dual rear cameras

It was just a couple of months ago that the LG V35 ThinQ made its official debut, but now a new report claims that the LG V40 is getting close.

The LG V40 ThinQ will launch in Korea in early October, according to a new report from ETNews. It's said that LG chose this timing because it's about one month after the Galaxy Note 9's expected launch, a move that LG hopes will minimize the competition. LG will reportedly introduce the V40 at an event in mid-September.

Today's report also mentions that the LG V40 will have three rear cameras, which is a rumor that we've heard before. These will include 20MP, 16MP, and 13MP sensors, and LG is expected to make one of them a super wide angle camera and one a telephoto camera in addition to the standard camera. Around front it's said that there will be two cameras to enable 3D facial recognition.

It's also rumored that the LG V40 will have have super slim bezels and a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio to help make watching videos more immersive.

LG has long placed a focus on camera performance with its flagship smartphones, and so it makes sense that the company would try to push the envelope by packing three rear cameras in the V40. Each one would serve a specific purpose, like the super wide angle helping you fit all of your friends into a single photo or the telephoto letting you get closer to your subject without actually moving closer. Now we just have to wait and see how the V40's five cameras actually perform.

Based on what we've heard about it so far, are you interested in the LG V40 ThinQ?
