Xiaomi Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite are the newest Android One smartphones

Xiaomi Mi A2 Android One official

After getting into the Android One game last year with the Mi A1, Xiaomi today doubled down on its efforts with two new Android One smartphones.

The Xiaomi Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite are now official. The Mi A2 boasts a 5.99-inch 2160x1080 display, Snapdragon 660 processor, and a dual rear camera setup with 12MP and 20MP sensors. There's also a 20MP camera around front for all of your selfie needs. Xiaomi has also included a 3010mAh battery and USB-C port, but there's no 3.5mm headphone jack to befound here.

Xiaomi will sell the Mi A2 with 4GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of built-in storage, and there will also be a model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The base version will cost you €249 ($291 USD), while the top-end version with 6GB of RAM will cost €349 ($408 USD).

As you might've guessed by its name, the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite is the lower-end model of the two. It's not exactly a slouch, though, offering a Snapdragon 625 processor, microSD slot, dual rear camera setup with 12MP and 5MP sensors, and a 5MP front-facing camera. There's also a 4000mAh battery and a 5.84-inch 2280x1080 display with a notch.

The Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite will be sold in two variants: one with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage and one with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The 3GB/32GB version will be sold for €179 ($209 USD) while the 4GB/64GB model wil set you back €229 ($268 USD).

Xiaomi will sell the Mi A2 in 40 markets. These include Greece, France, Belarus, Italy, Hungary, Spain, and Slovakia in Europe as well as Colombia, Mexico, Egypt, India, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, and the UAE.

The Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite look like nice upgrades over last year's Mi A1, offering bigger screens and slimmer bezels. And because they're Android One devices, the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite will run a fairly untouched version of Android that also gets monthly security updates rather than the heavily customized MIUI ROM that Xiaomi phones typically run.
