Google Assistant is adding another skill to its arsenal this week.
Google Assistant can now initiate a video call using Google Duo. Just call up the Assistant and say "video call ______", and Assistant will launch Duo and begin a video call. As Android Police notes, if you don't have Duo installed, Assistant may try to call using Hangouts instead.
You will need v37 of the Google Duo app to make this feature happen. Google employee Justin Uberti ha confirmed this feature, adding that Google Duo v37 also includes "several quality improvements."
Google Duo v37 finished rolling out last week, with several quality improvements and now, Google Assistant integration. Once you have v37, you can say “Hey Google, video call Mom” and instantly be taken to a high-quality Duo call. More to share on this topic soon… pic.twitter.com/wkDeUvCBIZ

This is another nice addition to Google Assistant. You could already use it to make regular voice calls as well as send text messages and emails, so it's good to see support for video calls added, too, especially since Google has a video calling app in Google Duo.
How often do you make video calls?
