New Fitbit smartwatch shown off in leaked images

We’ve been hearing for months now that Fitbit is prepping a new smartwatch, and now new images of the still unannounced device have leaked.

This new Fitbit smartwatch looks like an updated version of the Fitbit Blaze that was released in 2016. It’s got a square display and expected to be offered in three colors: silver case with navy strap, rose gold case with blue strap, and darker case with black strap.

In terms of features, Wareable notes that this Fitbit’s heart rate sensor has two red lights rather than green lights like most other heart rate sensors, as well as a blue optical. It’s said that this could indicate that the new Fitbit smartwatch could be using red light tech for a more accurate heart rate reading while the blue light could be used to measure blood oxygen levels.

Also said to be included with this Fitbit smartwatch is GPS and water resistance up to 50 meters.

When asked about these leaked images, Fitbit confirmed that it’s developing a smartwatch that’ll be available for the holiday season, but didn’t spill any other details.

Fitbit is one of the better known companies in the wearables space, which still doesn’t seem to have gained a great amount of consumer traction. This upcoming device isn’t the most attractive smartwatch we’ve ever seen, but the fact that it comes from a name like Fitbit could help its sales.

What do you think of this upcoming Fitbit smartwatch?
