There’s a lot of excitement surrounding the iPhone 8, which is rumored to feature a new all-screen design. We’ve gotten quite a few details on the new phone thanks to some recent leaks, but one tidbit that we haven’t heard much about is price. That changes today.
Today The New York Times posted a look back at the past 10 years of iPhone, and buried inside of it was some news about the iPhone 8’s price. The report mentions that the “premium model” of the new iPhones will be priced at “around $999.”
The new iPhone 8 is rumored to include a few features that are new to the iPhone line, including an all-screen design and infrared face detection. Considering the new design and new hardware features that are rumored to be included with the iPhone 8, it’s very possible that it could start at $999, which is $220 more than the 32GB iPhone 7 Plus.
Also of note is that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is priced at $930, so there’s some precedent for a near-$1000 smartphone with cutting edge features.
What do you make of this rumor? Would you pay $1000 for a high-end flagship smartphone?
