Lenovo K8 Note official with 10-core processor, stock Android 7.1.1

Lenovo K8 Note official

Days after Lenovo said that it’d begin shipping phones with stock Android rather than its custom Vibe Pure UI, the company’s first stock Android phone has been revealed.

The Lenovo K8 Note is now official. As promised, the K8 note runs vanilla Android, version 7.1.1 to be specific. Lenovo touts the phone as being “lighter and baggage free” and confirms the the K8 Note also includes Google Assistant.

Lenovo has also equipped the K8 note with dual rear cameras. There’s the primary 13-megapixel sensor as well as a 5-megapixel depth sensor, and Lenovo has included a dual LED flash, too. Around on the front of the phone is a 13-megapixel selfie camera.

Rounding out the Lenovo K8 Note’s feature set is a 5.5-inch 1920x1080 display, deca-core Helio X23 processor, up to 4GB of RAM, up to 64GB of storage, and a microSD slot for adding even more storage if you’d like. There’s also a 4000mAh battery, dual SIM slots, and a Music Key that you can program to launch any app of your choice.

The Lenovo K8 Note will launch on Amazon India on August 18th. Pricing starts at ₹12,999 ($203 USD) for a model with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage and goes up to ₹13,999 ($219 USD) for the 4GB/64GB model.

Lenovo’s new K8 Note has some pretty solid specs, but the news that it’s running vanilla Android 7.1.1 may be one of the biggest draws of the device. Many Android devices run some sort of custom manufacturer UI on top of Android, so it’s nice to have another option outside of Google’s Nexus and Pixel phones that offer a vanilla Android experience.
