Google has previously said that it plans to launch Android O in Q3 2017, and while there’s no official launch date quite yet, we’ve now got one possible date to circle on our calendars.

Google is planning to launch Android O during the week of August 21st, according to Evan Blass. The release is “most likely” kicking off on the 21st.

When Android O begins its rollout, Nexus and Pixel devices will be the first to receive it. That’s also when Android O will be released to OEMs and when they’ll begin prepping the update for their own devices, building in their custom features and overlays.

Android O brings with it several new features. There’s picture-in-picture for viewing videos while performing other tasks on your smartphone, adaptive icons to help app icons fit in with an OEM’s custom UI, notification improvements like background colors and snoozing, and more.
