T-Mobile’s latest promotion will get you Apple’s flagship smartphone for free.
T-Mobile is now offering the iPhone 7 for free (or an iPhone 7 Plus for $100) to customers that port-in their number from another carrier and trade in a qualifying smartphone. Both new and existing customers qualify. Existing customers can add a line with a port-in to their T-Mobile One or Simple Choice Unlimited plan to get this deal.
The smartphones that qualify for trade-in include the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S7, Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, and Samsung Galaxy S7 active.
The way that this promo works is that you’ll head into a T-Mobile store, port in your number, and pick up your iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus. You’ll trade in your phone there, too, and receive an instant credit to lower the cost of your new iPhone. You’ll then head to T-Mobile’s promo site and enter the code 17Q1APLTRADE. T-Mo will mail you a prepaid MasterCard that you can use to cover the down payment of your phone and the remaining cost of the iPhone 7 or to bring the final cost of an iPhone 7 Plus down to $100.
You can combine T-Mobile’s iPhone 7 offer with deals like two T-Mobile One lines for $100 or the new Free Add a Line deal. However, it can’t be combined with other port-in deals, like Carrier Freedom.
T-Mobile says that this deal will run through March 16.
The iPhone 7 is one of the best smartphones available today, so this is a nice deal. There are some caveats that you’ll need to keep in mind if you’re thinking about taking advantage of this deal, but if you do have a line that you’re thinking about porting to T-Mo, then this deal is worth considering.
