One day after Samsung confirmed that it plans to offer refurbished Galaxy Note 7 phones, the company shared a bit of news that’s sure to disappoint some folks in the US.
Samsung will not offer any refurbished Galaxy Note 7s in the US. In a statement to Reuters, Samsung said that it “will not be offering refurbished Galaxy Note 7 devices for rent or sale in the US.”
Samsung hasn’t said exactly where in the world it’ll offer refurbished Galaxy Note 7 phones. So far, the company has only said that it’ll work with regulators and carriers and analyze local demand to determine where it’ll have refurbished Note 7s available.
There will surely be some people in the US that are bummed that they won’t be able to buy a refurbished Note 7, especially given the praise that the flagship got when it originally launched last year. Samsung is planning to officially announce its new Galaxy S8 and S8+ flagships tomorrow, though, so folks that’ve been hoping for a refurb Note 7 could check those devices out.
